What a beautiful day Sunday was here! It was sunny, dry, and no crazy winds! I was so happy to be able to finally snap some photographs of these completed quilts.
This is a small baby quilt. The charm pack is Riley Blake’s In the Ocean and came with only 18 blocks. I added Moda’s Bella Solid Red blocks to help it grow 😉 Using blue honey bun strips for border and Red strips for binding. It is backed with white flannel. The prints are so fun and flowy, that I continued that feel by using my walking foot and quilted waves.
Don’t you just love the bright primary colors?! It is such a happy, bubbly quilt.
This one is such a sweet “cool” baby quilt. It is made with Lily & Loom’s Bear Mountain charm pack. The sashing is Kona’s Coal jelly roll strips and the backing a smooth gray minky. I love the soft colors of this fabric line and how using the coal sashing really helped the images pop!
I really enjoyed working on this one! The silly kitties and puppies are so adorable 🙂 This is Stacy Iest Hsu’s Wood Woof Meow for Moda. I used a tone on tone cream dot jelly roll for sashing, and a soft polyester for backing. I like how you don’t have to play favorites on which furry friend quilt to have, too 😉
Finally, my strip quilt. This was one that has been in the works for quite a while. I have been trying to finish up some or all of my WIPs, and this one looked like a good one to start with. I used a variety of fat quarters to make the strips. It has been so long that I do not remember the fabric line I used… a few years will do that I suppose. I backed it with a large piece of tone on tone brown that I had and even found a matching fabric that I cut into 2.5″ strips for the binding! I was so proud of myself for using items from my stash that have been so patiently waiting for attention 🙂
What do you think? Such a beautiful day to have pulled these lovelies out. I am hoping winter has decided to move on and spring is moving in 😀
How do you take photos of your quilts? I would love to hear.
Becki 🙂
