These 2 table runners are the others I made from my scrap stash.
Using up some of my stash not only gives me a few smaller projects to practice “driving” free-motion quilting style, but will give me a good excuse to buy new fabric đŸ˜‰
and then fold over to the front.
The 3 photos above show the back and my binding process. You can kindof see the quilting, but the fun Paris Streets fabric blends it in.
I usually take so many photos of what I’m making. For these table runners project, though, I only took photos of the finishing up parts. I must have really been in the zone! Wish I could summon that focus more often, lol.
They make for a very easy, yet decorative, continuous line.

In the books and videos I’ve watched about FMQ, they say to sandwich larger scraps of fabric and practice. For me that is very difficult. It’s like putting a blank piece of paper in front of me and telling me to write…
Me: “Write what?”
Teacher: “Whatever comes to mind.”
Me: (crickets…)
Anyway, I am really happy with how they turned out and enjoyed practicing my “driving” on them.
How do you practice your “driving” or FMQ? I would love to know!
