Elastic Masks

I wanted to share a little information about masks with elastic. Rather you have purchased one from our Etsy shop or from someone else, here’s a few key steps to ensure a comfortable and safe fit.

For the sake of this post, I am going to refer to masks I make and sell for easier dialog.

When you purchase an elastic mask, it will look like this when it arrives

The image above shows a mask with the elastic to wear behind your ears. You can see the knots in the elastic. I knot the elastic – rather than sew into the mask – to allow customers to easily unknot and reknot, if needed, to ensure a better fit.

The images above show how to tighten the knot in the elastic so that it does not come undone. When you receive one of my masks, try it on. If it fits correctly against your face, go ahead and tighten elastic as it. If it is loose and keeps falling down, unknot and reknot for a better fit.

If your mask continuously falls down your face, and you have to keep pulling back up, then you need to tighten your elastic. Trust me, taking the extra couple minutes (max) to tighten the elastic, will save you from constantly readjusting your mask. Also, having your mask stay in place will help your mask do its job šŸ˜‰

By rotating the elastic, the knot will be tucked into the fabric, and not irritate your ears.

After rotating and hiding the knot, your mask now looks like this
My husband likes the masks with elastic,
I like the masks with the adjustable tie

I hope this post helps you have a “better wearing experience” with your masks.

Stay safe!
