Quilts

T-shirt Quilt Duo

I’ve been pretty busy working on T-shirt quilts lately. The two here were for a couple that had a garbage bag of shirts they didn’t want to get rid of, but didn’t want in their closet anymore.

I went through the shirts, prepped, then separated into two piles of blocks based on color. Here are the final masterpieces…

I collaged the shirt blocks, rather than sashing them. I aligned the columns, but did my best to not have any horizontal seams match. For me that was very difficult. I used a fucshia minky for backing, so opted for straight line quilting.

I laid this quilt out the same as the first and used a turquoise dot minky for backing.

I am happy with how they turned out, and even more happy that the couple was excited to see their shirts in quilts!

Yay! 😀
