Rag Rugs

Scrappy Rug

I was going through my photos the other day and ran across this rug I made a handful of years ago. I use it as a doily/table runner(?) on a stand where plants and photos live. Thought I’d share my idea project with others that may have a stash of fabric like I did 😉

I had a stash of fabric that was a combination of small pieces of large prints and fabrics scraps that I inherited that I just didn’t really like. Mom and I called it my “ugly fabric” stash, though none of it was actually ugly, I just didn’t know what do do with all the different and weird sized pieces. I couldn’t get rid of the stash, but wanted to do something with it. So, this is what I came up with and was pleasantly surprised at how much I love it!

The photos above show how my “ugly fabric” stash transformed into a beautiful scrappy rug! I love how bright and variegated it is 🙂

Do you have a stash of fabric like I did? What creative idea did you have to transform it into something beautiful?
