Quilts

BABY Quilt

In bringing home and going through mom’s sewing room treasures, I found this quilt she made some years ago. I remember her making in and even think it was as far back as when I was still playing with dolls.

I should have taken a before photo, but didn’t. Mom used the BABY print cotton fabric for the front and a beige flannel for the back. She used batting in the middle, but didn’t tie or quilt it. I didn’t think much about it when I put it in the wash, but when the quilt came out of the dryer, the batting was bunched up in the center.

I carefully took the quilt apart and relayered it. Once pinned, I quilted it in an all over meandering free-motion quilting–I think I said that right lol.

I got the quilt all quilted and added binding and am very happy with how it turned out. It’s still how mom made it, will a little extra love from me 🙂

When complete, I rewashed it and tucked it away with my dolls that I still have that mom made me 🙂
