Can You Make Curtains…?

So Chetta knows I sew and make quilts all the time. She asked if I would make her some curtains if she would send me fabric. Ummm 😮

So after the various questions and concerns that went through my head about what kind and how hard and what is she thinking… I asked to be a bit more specific as to what she wanted before I would answer her ;p

Fast forward. Chetta and her husband, Mike, bought the fabric they wanted and mailed it to me with one of the current curtains to use as a pattern. I got neutral colored fabric for a backing and prewashed both fabrics. I figured I would get all shrinkage out before making the curtains.

Once I backed and finished the curtains, I had to make the “rod” part for hanging. Using the sheer curtain they send as a pattern, I laid the curtains out in the kitchen and began folding and clipping accordingly.

Apparently, George thought he had to help. He checked the measurements, and shifted the curtains as he saw fit. SMH…

I finally got my measurements right and even and finished the curtains.

I packaged these lovelies up and shipped to their home in Ohio. I was very anxious about them arriving and Mike and Chetta hanging, or trying to hang them up.

Both Mike and Chetta were very happy and excited about the curtains. Chetta had a great idea of using an old baseball as a tie, which was the cherry on top!

Yes, I can make curtains. At least ones like this lol.
