Yay! Another UFO finished! No, not a flying object, but an unfinished object ;p
This top has been done for maybe 2 years? Yes, I do have some that have been waiting to be finished longer, but I had “discovered” just the right backing in my fabric stash!
I backed this lovely quilt with white wide back flannel. I knew I had it, but hadn’t mentally connected that it was the perfect backing fabric for this quilt top.
I quilted most of it on my mom’s Sweet Sixteen when I was there visiting. I finished quilting it with my new Babylock Jazz II. After the quilting and binding, I gave it a bath. I love how washing and drying a finished quilt is the cherry on top!
I am really happy with how this quilt turned out đŸ™‚

This is so pretty! I have the pieces for a quilt that were given to me by my grandmother who always hand sewed her quilts, but I’ve never been able to sit down and start it. Of all the things I enjoy doing creatively, I don’t think I can pull off sewing a quilt. I definitely couldn’t do it by hand like my grandmother always did.

Thank you! I believe anyone that enjoys using the sewing machine and playing with fabric can make a quilt. It’s just doing one block at a time and not thinking of the whole quilt, otherwise it is really overwhelming. How awesome to have your grandmothers hand sewn quilt blocks/pieces! I so admire the hand quilting and the many stitches to sew the blocks together! I have tried to hand stitch and quilt, but I just couldn’t get the hang of it.
