A Hu-Fungus Good Time!

What a crazy busy few weeks! Seems like there’s not enough time to get everything done, and the time change only makes it worse since it now is dark by 5:30pm.

Any-who. A couple weeks back we did take some time to do something fun. We took another class with Lauri Daughtry of Bottles & Brushes. This time it was hosted by the Trackside Bottle Shop in Mebane. It was our first visit there, but what a cool place!

It started as a really nice evening! Weather was nice and comfortable, so we sat outside. There was rain coming later, so we did grab a table with an umbrella 😉.

My little mushroom house took a scary turn at one point. I sat it down to get more paint and when I picked it back up I wasn’t sure if I should scream or laugh… so I laughed. Lauri and Mary were discussing some tweaks on Mary’s mushroom and they just looked at me, which made me laugh more and wasn’t able to explain.

We did finish our mushrooms finally. Lots of laughter and giggles and most of the time not sure why LOL! But it was a great time!

There we are with our masterpieces. Don’t you love Mary’s smoke coming from her chimney?! It was a definite need that night. You can see that it started to rain, too.

We gathered up our things and cleaned up our area. We used the table covers to protect our paintings, because we had parked 2-3 blocks away. By the time we were ready to head to our cars, it was raining pretty steady, but we ran out into it and toward our cars.

That was when the sky opened up!

We ran from awning to awning where we could, but before we were halfway to our cars, we both were soaked. It began to thunder and lightening. And the wind!

Fast forward through the final drenching journey and the stressful drive home, we both made it home safely and our paintings didn’t get a drop of rain on them!

So overall, it really was a hu-fungus (humongous) good time! 😁
